Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about GreaseGrid grease trap pumping coordination.
About GreaseGrid
What is GreaseGrid Concierge?
GreaseGrid Concierge is a scheduling, documentation, and vendor coordination platform for grease trap pumping services in Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley. We coordinate licensed vendors on your behalf but do not perform the pumping ourselves.
Who performs the grease trap pumping?
All grease trap pumping is performed by independent, licensed service providers in our vendor network. Every vendor holds a valid business license, waste hauler permit, and liability insurance. GreaseGrid vets all vendors before they join the network.
Where does GreaseGrid operate?
We serve the greater Los Angeles area and the San Fernando Valley. Coverage includes Downtown LA, Hollywood, Koreatown, West LA, Culver City, Burbank, Glendale, Van Nuys, North Hollywood, Encino, and surrounding neighborhoods.
Pricing & Payment
How much does it cost?
Two fees. GreaseGrid charges a coordination fee ($79, $59, or $49 per service depending on your tier). Your vendor charges separately for the pumping work itself ($175–$475+ depending on trap size). You pay GreaseGrid via secure checkout and the vendor directly at time of service. GreaseGrid never collects the vendor's fee.
Do I have to subscribe?
No. Pay-As-You-Go is $79 per service with no commitment and no recurring charges. If you use GreaseGrid regularly and want a lower rate, the Professional tier drops you to $59 per service and Portfolio to $49 per service — these are just discount flags on your account, not subscriptions.
What's the catch on Professional and Portfolio?
Only this: if you don't schedule any service for 90 days, your account auto-reverts to Pay-As-You-Go. Schedule a service again and we'll restore your tier. No other conditions.
Can I switch plans?
Yes, contact us and we'll update your account tier the same day. You can also let it auto-adjust: doing zero dispatches for 90 days auto-reverts to Pay-As-You-Go.
How do I cancel?
There's nothing to cancel — there are no recurring charges. Just stop scheduling services.
Why is the GreaseGrid fee separate from the vendor fee?
We coordinate the service but vendors do the work. Keeping the fees separate means we never mark up what the vendor charges you — you pay the vendor's real price, plus our flat coordination fee. It's the same transparency a marketplace gives you, not a markup.
Is the vendor fee negotiable?
Vendors set their own rates. We share competing bids when we have them, so you can choose the one that fits your budget.
What is your refund policy?
If a vendor no-shows or cannot service within the SLA window, GreaseGrid automatically refunds the coordination fee. See our refunds page for full terms.
Compliance & Documentation
What is a proof packet?
A proof packet is a compliance-ready document bundle delivered after each pump-out. It includes the waste manifest, before/after photos, vendor credentials, service date, volume pumped, and disposal facility details. Ready for any LA Sanitation or LADBS inspection.
Does this help with FOG compliance?
Yes. Los Angeles requires restaurants and food-service establishments to maintain grease control and keep service records. LAMC Section 171 and the LA Sanitation FOG program require regular pump-outs and documentation. GreaseGrid's proof packets give you inspection-ready records.
How often should I pump my grease trap?
LA Sanitation requires grease traps to be pumped when they reach 25% capacity or at least every 90 days, whichever comes first. Grease interceptors typically require service every 30-90 days depending on volume. Your vendor will recommend a schedule based on your specific equipment and usage.
Scheduling
How quickly can you schedule a pump-out?
Most non-emergency pump-outs can be scheduled within 3-5 business days. Emergency service is available for backed-up traps and compliance deadlines, subject to vendor availability.
Do you send reminders?
Yes. You receive automated reminders before your scheduled appointment. For recurring plans, we also send reminders when your next pump-out is due based on your pumping schedule.
Can I reschedule?
Yes. Contact us via phone or email to reschedule. We will coordinate with the vendor to find a new time that works for you.
