Common questions
Why not just call a pumping company directly?
You can, and many restaurants do. But you handle scheduling, follow-ups, no-show situations, and compliance paperwork yourself. GreaseGrid gets multiple bids so you see competitive pricing, locks in the schedule, sends reminders, and delivers a sealed proof packet. For a flat $49 to $79 Compliance Coordination fee per service you get a coordinator, not another vendor to manage.
Who performs the pumping, and are they licensed?
All grease trap pumping and waste hauling is performed by independent, licensed service providers in our vetted vendor network. GreaseGrid does not perform any regulated waste services; we coordinate, schedule, and document. Every vendor must maintain valid business licenses, waste hauler permits, and liability insurance, which we verify before onboarding and monitor on an ongoing basis.
What's in the GreaseGrid fee, and what's the actual pumping cost?
The Compliance Coordination fee covers vendor matching, automated scheduling, appointment management, compliance documentation, proof packet generation, renewal reminders, customer support, and platform access. Pumping costs vary based on trap or interceptor size, grease volume, access difficulty, and urgency. Typical costs range from $175 to $475+ per pump-out. You will receive vendor quotes before confirming service. GreaseGrid never marks this up; the vendor bills you directly.
What if the vendor misses the appointment, or there's a problem?
Every vendor in our network is SLA-tracked. If they miss your appointment, we re-dispatch immediately at no extra cost and the vendor's score drops. If you are unsatisfied with vendor service, you can file a dispute through your portal. We will investigate, mediate between parties, and work toward a resolution. Vendor SLA scores are tracked to maintain quality.
Where do you serve, and how fast?
We currently serve Los Angeles County, with a focus on the City of Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley, including Van Nuys, Burbank, Glendale, Sherman Oaks, North Hollywood, Encino, and surrounding areas. For routine service, we typically schedule within 2 to 5 business days. For urgent requests, we aim for 24 to 48 hours. Emergency same-day service is available through select vendors at premium rates.
How does multi-location pricing work?
Professional ($59 per service, 1 to 3 locations) or Portfolio ($49 per service, 4 to 10 locations) apply the discounted Compliance Coordination fee to every service you schedule across all your locations. Pay-As-You-Go ($79 per service) covers a single location at the baseline rate. Vendor pumping costs are always quoted and billed per location by the service provider. Portfolio also includes a dedicated account coordinator, custom reporting, and vendor performance scorecards. No recurring charges; the tier simply locks in the discounted per-service rate.
